DOCX is the modern Word format (2007+), but some legacy software, government portals, and industrial systems still require the older DOC binary format. Converting preserves text, images, and layout — only the container changes.
DOCX has been the standard Word format since 2007, but some legacy systems never updated. Government agencies, older corporate software, industrial control panels, and some ERP systems still require the older binary DOC format. Converting DOCX to DOC makes your documents compatible with these legacy workflows without changing their content.

| Engine | LibreOffice headless |

| File retention | Auto-deleted after conversion |
| Batch conversion | Not supported (single file) |
The converter uses LibreOffice headless to load the DOCX structure and re-save it in the older binary DOC format. Text, formatting, images, tables, and layout are preserved. Since DOCX is a strict superset of DOC features, most modern elements convert cleanly.
DOCX → DOC conversion is layout-preserving for standard content. Modern features that don't exist in the DOC format (like SmartArt) may be flattened to images. Text, images, tables, and formatting are preserved exactly.
