Automatically compress any JXL image to 50KB or less.

50 KB is very tight for JXL, but achievable for small images or thumbnails. The compressor uses lossy mode at lower quality settings to hit the target — JXL's efficiency means the result usually still looks good.
JXL is the most efficient mainstream format, but 50 KB is still a tight target — only achievable for small images or thumbnails. The most common need is when an upload system or storage platform imposes a 50 KB cap. Our tool iterates quality (lossy mode) until the output lands at 50 KB or under, or applies maximum lossless compression if the source is small enough.
| Input format | JXL (JPEG XL) |
| Output format | JXL |
| Target size | 50 KB or under |
| Codec | libjxl |
| Method | Lossless first, then lossy iteration |
| Typical quality | 50-70% at 50 KB |
| Transparency | Preserved |
| Max file size | 50 MB per file |
| File retention | Auto-deleted after compression |
The compressor decodes the JXL and re-encodes it using libjxl. It first attempts lossless modular encoding; if the output still exceeds 50 KB, it switches to lossy VarDCT and iteratively reduces quality until the target is met. At 50 KB, a JXL is typically 300-600px wide.
50 KB is a tight target for JXL. Expect either lossless at small dimensions, or lossy at 50-70% quality. JXL's efficiency means the result usually still looks good, but detailed images may show softening.
