Quick answer: A 10-year-old is about 3,652 days, 522 weeks or 120 months old. An average year has 365.2425 days, so multiply your age in years by 365.25 for a quick estimate. The exact number depends on how many leap days (29 February) fall between your birth and today.

Use the tables below to look up common ages. For your own exact count, the age calculator will give you the answer in seconds.

Key takeaways

  • Months: age in years × 12 (exact, because a year is always 12 months).
  • Weeks: age in years × 52.18 (approximate).
  • Days: age in years × 365.2425 (approximate), or 365 × years + leap days (exact).
  • Leap years add about 1 day every 4 years. That’s the “drift” behind the day ranges.
  • A calculator gives exact results, and a table gives quick estimates.

What Do “Days, Weeks and Months Old” Mean?

They are your age expressed in different units. Your age is a fixed amount of time. Days, weeks and months are just different ways to count it, like measuring a distance in miles or kilometers.

People ask this for fun, for baby and toddler milestones, for school forms and for “I’m 10,000 days old today” celebrations. If you also want your age in years, months and days, read how to calculate your age by hand.

Age in Days, Weeks and Months: Reference Table

This table covers common ages. The “Days” column is a range, because the exact count depends on how many leap days your life includes.

How to read it: find your age in years, then use the Days range. The weeks column uses the average year length, so it’s approximate. The months column is exact.

Why some ages show one number and others two: when the age is a multiple of 4, the span always holds the same number of leap days (for example 16 years always has 4). Other ages can hold one fewer or one more, depending on your birth date.

Age in Months and Weeks for Babies and Toddlers

For young children, months and weeks are more useful than years. Calendar months vary from 28 to 31 days, so these numbers are approximate (within about 2 days).

Growth charts for under-2s use age in months, not years. For how age changes the way health numbers are read, see BMI by Age and Sex.

Why Is the Day Count Not Exactly 365 × Years?

Because a year is slightly longer than 365 days. The Gregorian calendar’s average year is 365.2425 days. To keep the calendar in step, it adds a leap day to most years divisible by 4.

That extra 0.2425 day per year is the leap-year drift:

Years passedExtra days from leap years (≈)
41
102–3
4010
10024–25

The rule in one line: across 400 years there are 97 leap days, which is why the average is 365.2425. If you want the full leap-year rule (including why 1900 and 2100 are not leap years), see our guide to calculating your age.

How Many Hours, Minutes and Seconds in a Year?

If you want to go smaller than days, this time calculator table helps.

Year typeDaysHoursMinutesSeconds
Common year3658,760525,60031,536,000
Leap year3668,784527,04031,622,400

Handy fact: 1 billion seconds is about 31.7 years.

Milestone Days: When Do You Turn 1,000, 10,000 or 20,000 Days Old?

Many people like to celebrate day milestones. Divide the number of days by 365.2425 to get an approximate age in years.

MilestoneApproximate age
1,000 days2 years, 9 months
5,000 days13 years, 8 months
10,000 days27 years, 4–5 months
20,000 days54 years, 9 months
25,000 days68 years, 5 months
30,000 days82 years, 2 months

How to find your milestone date: add the number of days to your date of birth. This is a task a date and time calculator handles easily.

Example 1: born 14 March 2016 → your 1,000th day is 9 December 2018, and your 10,000th day is 31 July 2043.

Example 2: born 1 January 1990 → your 10,000th day was 19 May 2017, when you were 27.

Counting convention: these dates treat your birth date as day 0. If you count your birth date as day 1, every milestone lands one day earlier.

How to Work Out Your Age in Days Without a Calculator

Use the method from the reference table, then adjust.

Exact method:

  1. Multiply whole years by 365.
  2. Add 1 day for each 29 February in your life.
  3. Add the days since your last birthday.

Worked example: born 25 November 1990, date 8 February 2026

  • Whole years to 25 Nov 2025: 35 × 365 = 12,775
  • Leap days (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024): +9 → 12,784
  • Days from 25 Nov 2025 to 8 Feb 2026: 75
  • Total: 12,859 days
  • Weeks: 12,859 ÷ 7 = 1,837 weeks exactly

Quick estimate: 35 years × 365.2425 = 12,783.5, plus about 75 days gives roughly 12,858. That’s off by only one day.

By months: this person is 35 years and 2 months, so 35 × 12 + 2 = 422 months (plus 14 days).

Why Doesn’t My Age in Years Change With the System?

Your real time alive is fixed. Days, weeks and months count it the same way under every system. Korean age and insurance age only change the label in years. See Korean Age vs International Age for the details.

Common Mistakes When Converting Age to Days

  • Using 365 × years only. For a 30-year-old, that’s 10,950, while the real number is about 10,957–10,958.
  • Using 30 days for every month. Months run from 28 to 31 days.
  • Using 52 weeks for a year. A year is 52 weeks plus 1 or 2 days.
  • Forgetting to count the leap days between birth and today.
  • Counting the birth date inconsistently. Decide whether it’s day 0 or day 1.
  • Using a table for exact legal or medical needs. Use exact dates in those cases.

Days, Weeks and Months Old: FAQs

How many days old is a 10-year-old?

About 3,652 to 3,653 days, depending on the birth date.

How many weeks is 1 year?

52 weeks plus 1 day (365 days), or 52 weeks plus 2 days in a leap year. On average, about 52.18 weeks.

How many months old am I?

Multiply your whole years by 12, then add the extra months. For 25 years and 3 months: 25 × 12 + 3 = 303.

How many days are in 18 years?

6,574 or 6,575 days.

How many days until I’m 10,000 days old?

How many hours old am I?

Multiply your age in days by 24.

Why is the day count a range?

Leap days fall on different dates, so two people of the same age can have lived one day more or less.

What is the difference between an age calculator and a time calculator?

An age calculator finds the gap between a date of birth and another date. A time calculator usually adds or subtracts hours and minutes.

Does a leap year change my age?
